Rise and shine! I know it has been quite some time since I have written an entry. Since Jamaica, I have gone to Qatar and Puerto Rico. Two very beautiful places that I really enjoyed. Qatar marked my second international track meet. I was in the company of some very worthy competitors and I had a very good taste of real competition. Where as I did not perform as well as I wanted to, it was great to be in that atmosphere and feel the energy, the competitiveness. After Qatar, I went to Puerto Rico. That was a very nice trip, I got to see my former coach, Victor Lopez and visit the beautiful Island that I have heard so much about. At this particular meet, I placed second, but my legs were not on fire the way I wanted them to be. So now I am in Houston, with my coach. I am here to focus on my mental training, and my physical training as well. At times I am not as sharp on the mental side, or the physical side as I want to be. I Think that comes with experience, and I am trying to learn. I also came back to Houston because my spirit is always at ease here. I venture back to Rice University, see my former teammates, train on the pits that I love and escape any negativity that may creep in. My next competition is June 8. The Prefontaine Classic. I am very excited about that. I can not wait, I am tuning up myself as whole so that I can perform well there. I believe that one is on TV as well, so, if they show the long jump, look for me!!! Well, I am off to practice in a bit, I just wanted to drop a line. Continue to keep up with me, my next few entries will probably be about training, rather than competition. And to everyone who has left a comment, thank you so much. The comments really help motivate me. Oh, btw. My birthday is this thursday. Getting older.... but better. All the best Funmi K. Jimoh
