Hello friends, Okay, so its been a week or so since I checked in. I must say that this is an amazing experience one I know I will never forget. The village is a beautiful combination of different sports, languages and cultures. Its so cool. Training has been going well, I think I am just getting acclimated. I've stopped waking up at 4:30 am, now I get up around 6:30 and workout around 7:30. The food is good. There are many international options, and for the truly american, there is a mcdolalds! Free mcdonalds!!! There are plenty of places to relax and play games and mingle. Opening cermonies!! Wow. That experience was really worth it. It was hot, and we definitely were anxious in our holding area, but as we walked out and the chants of u s a began, I was ready to jump right then and there. Lights and fire works, people! There aren't enough words!! We were all dressed so nice in our suits!! I waved at ever camera so I hope someone saw me. It was amazing and exhausting. Needless to say we all slept in the following morning! Well I am very excited to compete, my coach and my mom will be here soon, the rest of my support will come soon too. To everyone who is cheering for me, thank you so much. And to all of my family, big cousins, and little cousins, aunts and uncles, thank you. I'm keeping my nose to the grind and I'm putting in hard work.
I will talk to you soon! Funmi K Jimoh
