Hello all,
Things have been very busy in the last few weeks. At this moment I am on the bus leaving processing in San Jose for the airport in San Francisco. Its amazing. Its still just barely hitting me, but as we load the bus dressed in matching team usa jackets, women in royal blue, men in navy, I realize......... I'm on the team. I am a member of the club. You can't buy this membership, you can't buy this experience.
Yesterday was an amazing day, a long day, but amazing. After arriving and receiving our track bags filled with competition equipment, we raced to our rooms to explore the mountains of equipment. It was insane. All one could hear in the rooms were cries of, "this is cute". "Oh my gosh", etc. I'm sure the cell phone towers overloaded as we all called loved ones to tell them the wonderful things we received. The excitement did not end there. About an hour later we received all of the rest of the apparel, hats, etc. Amazing, once again. Imagine visions of overjoyed young men and women pushing carts filled to the brim with goodies, there wasn't a sad face in the building. The volunteers were amazing, and so nice as you would frequently hear, that looks so nice on you! Jackets, rings etc. It was a long day, but who can complain. We are olympians, we are gifted, and we have the opportunity to wear some of the best, most exclusive gear around. It was amazing. By days end, and briefings concluded, we were all happily exhausted. Its amazing. So, as I head to the airport to. Board my 12 hour flight half way around the world to beijing, I am excited and ready. Cycling, softball, weightlifting. We are all here. The best of the best, to represent our country well, with integrity and passion. Wish us amazing competitions because luck has nothing to do with it.
All the best Funmi K Jimoh Usa track and field
