Family and friends,
Yes. It hurts. My heart hurts tremendously. I've dedicated a year to this moment. And in that moment I failed.
Nothings harder than refocusing and fighting the fight again.
I hate to lose. I am at my lowest in this moment. But I know this is not it.
I am a good jumper. Today It just didn't materialize. Its hard to believe that when my performance was so weak. I wish today were different.
Good night all.
Funmi Jimoh

My heart hurt so bad when I saw the results, and then when they showed you on tv...BUT you are a fighter and this will purely be fuel for your fire. The season has more in store for you so keep working hard.

I'm just relieved that you weren't injured, take some time to relax and enjoy life now. Wishing you better luck in your next competition
PS perhaps you'll consider opening a twitter account, many of the top US athletes like Allyson Felix http://twitter.com/allysonfelix have them now and it's great to get immediate updates from the athletes while they're competing. And we fans can offer words of support and congratulations that are waiting the moment you step off the field and pick up your phone. It's a great way to connect with your fan base.

hello Funmi,
it's a shame the officials didn't stop the qualification round due to the rain. In your 3rd attempt, you were certainly handicapped. While the other group performed a few meters more inside under the roof, they had less rain there. It's so unfair, I wonder there weren't any enquiries to the officials.
Hang in there, Funmi, get over it, and strike back some other time.
Kind regards
Wolfgang

Hi Funmi,
You're not a 'good' jumper, you're a GREAT jumper. You're the reason I'm watching Berlin!
Love you!

Funmi,
You have lost nothing, rather you gained the experience to learn and bounce back.
I saw your performance and am proud of you!
I have music on the following page.
I suggest 'Damu's Good Vibrations' or 'It Must Be Love' to help lift your spirits.

Good Day Funmi.
Writes to you George Smith from Russia.
I watched competition. And it has resulted on some thoughts.
At first. Your qualification was not successful, but you have drawn attention by jumps, beauty and genuine emotions (you strongly worried, it became a pity). Only first two attempts...
Second. The Final has passed tensely. In my opinion, very interestingly passed events.
I have several questions,I request you to answer them.
How has passed the Final, in your opinion, some comments.
What plans for the future?
You visited Russia? If is not, would you like to visit?
Good luck and carry on to go to your purpose.

Hi Funmi, all people must experience loss, you just had a bad day. Gather your emotions and thoughts, project them onto your goals with positive energy and love. Live in the present and push forward to attain all that you dream of achieving. The great spirit is with you, win or lose!

Funmi,
This morning I typed the following into the Google search-engin:
"What is Funmi Jimoh up to today, and why is she not updating her blog or letting us know how she's doing?"
It returned with (result 1 of 1 found): "..we don't know either, but we wish she would update cause we're all dying to find out if she's going from strength to strength and what she's doing to get back on her feet and what she's doing to focuse on securing victory at the next meet!"
I then 'searched within my result' and asked Google: "It's only been 4 days since she last wrote. Should I give her more time? I mean she was clearly devastated."
Google then said (result 1 of 1 found): "..yeah, maybe that's it. Watch this space though as she's sure to bounce back better and stronger than ever before and in no time whatsoever!"
:-)
