Hello Friends and Family,
First let me say that Daegu, Korea was good. I won it. So I was pleased with that, but we all know what my mission is!
This post is dedicated to Roo. I was presented with some good questions, so I will answer them in a post. FYI, feel free to ask me questions. Nice, friendly questions only!
Who is my role model?
I would reword that in saying, who has inspired me as an athlete? To that, the answer would have to be a long list. First, I thought I was going to be a basketball star, and Lisa Leslie was one of my inspirations. Once I came to terms with the fact that basketball was not my calling , I learned more about the track and field greats like Wilma Rudolph and Jackie Joyner-Kersee, and Flo-Jo. I looooved Flo- Jo's style, her grace, and the fact that she could win and make it so beautiful. How can one not be inspired by JJK, the greatest female athlete and American Record holder in my event.
Lately I have begun to really be inspired by and enjoy the video of Heike Drechsler, Robert Emmiyan, Mike Powell, and Carl Lewis.
Who is my biggest rival and why?
Some may dislike my answer, but I don't consider anyone my rival. I have many competitors, and I compete with them all, but I rival with no one but myself. I am not chasing anyone, or anyones mark, but rather challenging myself each time I step onto the runway, to best my personal best. Do I use my fellow competitors as a catalyst to achieve my goal, absolutely. I am a true competitor and I want to win. But no human being is my rival. So basically, I want to beat everyone one, but more than that I want to beat my best.
I hope I answered your questions well!
FYI: I will be doing the Jumps Gala in Hungary - June 2, My first diamond league in Oslo, Norway - June 4, then a meet in Spain - June 9. I will update my blog so you will not be without my "two cents".
Until Next time!
